Only at Tiffany & Co.

Tiffany & Co. is among the only jewelry houses to utilize the 19th century art form of paillonné enamel. This unique craft creates deep, intensive hues with high transparency, brilliance and texture. At the heart of the technique are handcrafted metal foils, or paillons, that artisans imbue with an intricate texture before they are meticulously placed between layers of translucent enamel, resulting in a deeply saturated hue. Each piece reveals subtle intricacies defined by remarkable dimensionality, with colors lasting over a century. Today, only a handful of master craftspeople worldwide possess the skill to execute this exceptionally complex technique.
